  1. Exactly What I Needed 5 Star Review

    Posted by on 04 20 2018

Any Floridian who owns a home with storm shutters and been through hurricanes knows that these bolts occasionally need replacing, mainly because the sidewalk bolts that are used to fasten the storm shutters to this anchor bolt gets stuck, and when you try to remove the stuck sidewalk bolt, the anchor bolt comes out, thus leaving a nice hole in the wall of your expensive home.

Also, since I was replacing these anchor bolts, I also bought a pack of the Sidewalk Bolts. This is what I bought for sidewalk bolts: 1/4-20 x 1/2" Combo Sidewalk Bolts - Convenience Pack [50 per pack]

Since you are replacing anchor bolts, you can use Gorilla Glue to fill the excess space in order to help seat the bolt. I am saying this because I assume you have a nice hole that is larger than the original anchor bolt that came out. I learned this from a construction crew that was installing storm shutters.

Also, you will want to put a little grease on the Sidewalk bolt threads before screwing into the anchor. This is will keep water out and keep the bolt from seizing. I suppose you could use a little brake anti-seize, but I personally think the grease works better.

These are competitively priced anchor bolts. Before finding WindStorm, I called a local shop for pricing, and then decided to do a little research. I found the local shop prices were over inflated compared to WindStorm.

    Customer Service
When I called WindStorm for help in buying these anchor bolts, the individual I spoke with was really nice and knowledgeable.

Last, since bought Sidewalk Bolts, this review will be modified for that product too. Basically good product, good customer service, and great pricing.
